Let the "laser" do the work!

I can't believe this will be my 6/12 print to be added to my 15 x 11 cm competition. This month I've decided to try something different, a variation of wood block printing.

By editing a recent painting, see here, I converted the image to be compatible with a laser cutter. Will test print tomorrow . . .

Southside Festival Opening

On Friday there, Nikki and I ventured through for a great wee Summer's night out in Glasgow and to see a piece of my work that I was exhibiting at Southside Festival, catching up with some familiar faces. Super cool venue!

Roll on next year!

Focusing on Colour

This week's been a busy one, but that said, I've did manage to get in the studio a couple of times. The second image is based on a self portrait; quite intense to look at, but the soft blue balances this out.

The top image is a study I wish to develop into more of a figurative piece, and think would work well as a larger scale piece. I really like the rich fleshy tones against the light green.

Surprise Paintings (Art @ Drouthy's Basement)

These two paintings were actually completed over a month ago, and are actually the last paintings produced from my old studio, Airlie Place. I decided to wait as these were to be included in my exhibition, ART @ Drouthy's Basement.
