Captious, is the latest etching print to be added to the 15 x 11 cm Print Competition. I used the same method as the past couple of months, (mezzotint etching) see here.
However, the final image came out looking more painterly, in terms of style, which is because I polished the plate surface very heavily and excessively, creating a greater contrast when printed.
For me, the man depicted in the image is of no-one in particular, but what is important is his strong stare, which grabs you straight away.
